Day of The Dead Altar Class & Cookbook Tasting

Join Eros and local cookbook author, Yvette Zuniga Jemison, for a Day of the Dead Class and Cookbook Tasting. Also known as Dia de los Muertos, this culturally rich Hispanic celebration honors departed loved ones with vibrant altars. During this demonstration style class, you’ll learn how to create an altar and the symbolism associated with each item. Yvette will discuss how food is an integral part of this celebration. Many of the recipes in Yvette’s award-winning cookbook, My South Texas Kitchen, can be prepared for your altar. She’ll discuss how to prepare pan de muerto, Day of the Dead bread. Her cookbook will be available for purchase and personalizing. You are encouraged to bring a photo of your deceased loved one to add to the altar created during the class.

The class is Thursday October 17th. Seating is limited and your can reserve your seat at Eventbrite HERE. See all the fun att @erosbyerinschaumburg ‘s and @y_delicacies. We look forward to sharing this special celebration with you.
