Labor Day Recipes

Three day weekends lend themselves to impromptu gatherings with family and friends. A well stocked fridge and pantry will be your friend allowing you to create a simple snack or and effortless meal. The Labor Day weekend will soon be here and I’m sharing some of my go-to recipes for impromptu gatherings.

Grab a handful of your end of summer herbs and toss them into this Prosciutto Salad with a Champagne Vinaigrette. Fresh herbs add such a delicate layer of flavor to salads. Add a heartier protein for a salad that doubles as a meal.

Add a Southern twist to traditional hummus by swapping chickpeas with black-eyed peas. It's so quick and easy you can whip up a batch of black-eyed pea hummus in no time.

Goat cheese and herbs are a perfect marriage. Enjoy my Herbed Goat Cheese Spread as an appetizer or layer it onto a cheese board.

Do your Labor Day plans include grilling? Herbed goat cheese is fantastic with grilled bread along with grilled meat and veggies. Here’s the grilled bread recipe.

A three day weekend deserves a fabulous crowd pleasing dessert. My banana pudding with a toasted meringue topping is perfect for this weekend.
